OnlineGURU Inc. Recognized at MADD San Diego's Annual Luncheon
SAN DIEGO, Calif. March 13, 2008 -- OnlineGURU Inc today received a certificate of appreciation from the San Diego County chapter of MADD for its sponsorship of and participation in the '07 Strides for Change Walk held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
The MADD Annual Recognition Luncheon took place in Del Mar, Calif. A group of Gurus representing the company joined the hundreds of Walk sponsors, volunteers, local law enforcement officers and community leaders who support MADD's mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims and prevent underage drinking.
During the luncheon, multiple law enforcement officers and volunteers were recognized for their ongoing efforts in the community to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes.
In addition to helping sponsor MADD's third annual walk, OnlineGURU formed a walk team and hosted the first ever DMV.ORG Internet Café at the event. Walkers and spectators surfed the pages of MADD's national site, they registered as official members of MADD, and they even learned valuable safety tips from the company's flagship site, DMV.ORG.
DMV.ORG is The Unofficial Guide to the DMV in all 50 states. It provides simplified information on how to take care of DMV-related transactions through each state's motor vehicle department. In addition, the site offers information and services on all facets of the driving experience. The site sees more than 65 million users a year.
Although OnlineGURU focuses most of its efforts on Web publishing, it also maintains a Community Outreach Committee that keeps the Gurus in the spirit of giving back to the community and the environment. In addition to its involvement with MADD, OnlineGURU donates resources and elbow grease to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Starfish Greathearts Foundation, DonorsChoose.org, Toys for Tots, San Diego Food Bank and Surfrider Foundation.
