OnlineGURU Inc. Raises $5K for Outdoor Outreach.

San Diego, Calif. September 25, 2009 -- OnlineGURU Inc. raised $5K for at-risk and underprivileged youth benefitted by Outdoor Outreach. Gurus participated in this local organization’s annual fundraising event dubbed The Joshua Tree Experience, gathering donations to further Outdoor Outreach’s mission.

Through comprehensive outdoor programming, Outdoor Outreach empowers middle school and high school students to make positive lasting changes in their lives. Most of the youth with similar backgrounds rarely explore beyond a five-mile radius of where they reside. But thanks to the staff and volunteers at Outdoor Outreach, many of these local youngsters are learning how to snowboard, surf, mountain bike, rock climb and more.

The fundraiser brought OO staff, volunteers and supporters together for a weekend-long camping trip in the desert. World famous for rock climbing and bouldering, Joshua Tree National Park offered an epic setting for all those outdoor enthusiasts in attendance. As Outdoor Outreach CORE volunteers, Gurus Chris Baldwin and Jen Lamboy also ran a silent auction and raffle at the event, raising an additional $5K.

In total, the event raised more than $75K, more than doubling the donations for last year’s event. Nearly 100 participants attended The Joshua Tree Experience, including OnlineGURU’s Chief Guru Raj Lahoti, his wife, company employees and their spouses.
