CEO of OnlineGURU Inc. Featured as Speaker on Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour
Yuma, AZ. June 10, 2010 -- OnlineGURU Inc.’s CEO and Chief Guru Raj Lahoti guest spoke before hundreds of students during the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour (EET). The Tour travels nationwide to bring high school and college students a variety of high-profile keynote speakers, workshops, opportunities for speed networking and panel discussions. The Yuma event also featured “America’s Top Young Speaker” Arel Moodie and Lauren Berger.
Chosen by EET for Lahoti’s success in the Web space, this young entrepreneur launched his company’s flagship site DMV.ORG before the age of 20. Today the site sees more than 60 million users per year. As one of the top 1,000 sites in the United States, DMV.ORG offers drivers simplified DMV-related info and automotive-related products and services.
During the high-energy event, Lahoti encouraged students to explore the idea of endless opportunity and to step fully into its path. “I started my first site at age 14, so I became a seasoned veteran well before even turning 30. What I learned on this entrepreneurial journey is how cool it is to continuously mature as a businessperson. Creating innovative solutions is something you can do for a lifetime. But it starts by acting on that hunger young entrepreneurs feel at an early age,” Lahoti said. A few years after the launch of his highly successful DMV.ORG, Lahoti and his brother cofounded OnlineGURU.
The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour is the first (and only) of its kind to bring the country’s top young entrepreneurs before an audience of college students, workforce development organizations, chambers of commerce, small business development centers (SBDC) and more. For university students in particular, EET offers extended opportunity beyond the half-day conference. Hosts of the Tour can license the JourneyPage Virtual Business Incubator to give students exclusive content and a mentorship system to help realize their business goals. For speakers such as Lahoti, EET provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to offer advice, enthusiasm and encouragement for up-and-comers.
In addition to the successes Lahoti has experienced with OnlineGURU, he has also received numerous awards. Inc.com named him No. 9 in its 30 Under 30: America’s Coolest, Young Entrepreneurs. He’s also earned honors in San Diego, Calif. as a finalist for the Ernst and Young prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and as the winner of the Association for Corporate Growth San Diego (ACGSD) 2007 Deal Makers Awards in the High Growth category. Lahoti is also a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, Entrepreneurs’ Organization and Association for Corporate Growth. To keep up with his latest innovations, connect with him on LinkedIn.
